Home Ranch

A re-designed landscape for a beloved rural bungalow and new guest house amid mature trees. Privacy and year-round beauty are two of the many products of this English Formal design effort.

Eighty years ago, Gail’s father bought this ranch property in the California Central Valley town of Ballico.  He planted trees and built a modest home that would become the base for farming and family.  Gail and Mike Martin manage the legacy, adding beauty and interest in warm detail largely due to a sense of responsibility and respect for her parents and the years of hard work growing and harvesting peaches, grapes, walnuts, and almonds.  Endurance brings us to today and the comfortable, welcoming home and gardens behind the hedges, converted in Craftsmen and English Formal style.  The Martins continue established traditions with joy and vigilant maintenance practices, always mindful of the value of design and striving for quality materials and methods.  Due to the dedication of resources and oversight to the beloved property, there is a timelessness and genuine sustainability that will likely last into the next century.  Honor, love and care continue to define and support Home Ranch as haven.
