Henderson

For this project, I had the pleasure of working alongside Matt and Mary Carol in completely transforming their surrounding landscape into a masterpiece full of Tuscan casual, Italian transitional, modern, and contemporary elements. I had first met with them in September of last year, with a deadline steadily approaching for an upcoming event to be hosted at their home the following month.

Through their renovation, my clients hoped to create the perfect outdoor space for hosting extravagant parties and events. They wanted the space to double as an oasis for relaxing on everyday evenings, and serve as a gorgeous view from their master bedroom. They wanted plenty of space to entertain up to forty guests at a time while also incorporating features that were unique to their home – such as a bocce court and beautiful fire pit. While working on the property, another one of our objectives was to remain resource conscious so we decided to work with the existing concrete as much as we could.

“From the beginning of our backyard creation through its completion, Monica helped us envision the beauty it would become. We especially enjoyed our back and forth conversations on everything from plants to bocce lights to how to tie the project in with the rest of the house. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome and the friendship we developed along the way.” — Matt H.

What began as barren, dry land soon evolved into a lush, vibrant environment by adding a brand new lawn, various types of flowers, assorted trees, and lighting fixtures. The plants we used in our design created a bright color palette consisting of purples, pinks, reds, and vivid greens to match my clients’ lively spirits. Additionally through this project transformation, we were able to enhance the beauty of the home itself and incorporate it into the new landscape, creating a cohesive environment from the home throughout the yard.

Through countless hours of hard work and careful attention to detail, we were able to make their dream a reality and to create the work of art that is Henderson Home.
